Beautiful Things

As I'm heading into Week 16 of this pregnancy, I'm allowing myself to get more and more excited.  :)  My jeans suddenly didn't want to zip on Sunday, so out we went Monday evening to purchase a few pairs of pants to carry me through August and then some...  This is actually HAPPENING. We have our big ultrasound on March 7, but we're going to wait until later that weekend for our special gender reveal party to find out for ourselves and for our family.  I'm so excited!  I think it's going to be so fun seeing people and sharing our joy together - boy OR girl.  All I want is a HEALTHY baby! At our last doctor's appointment, our doctor told us that I may be delayed in feeling our little one move because of the placement of our placenta.  Everyone keeps asking me if I've felt it yet, and right now I would say no... I keep laying in bed at night laying super still in hopes to feel those first flutters.  I thought I might have felt something last night, but

Be My Baby

I totally had my breath taken away today by the little life growing inside of me. We went to a new doctor, and she was everything we hoped and dreamed for.  So caring, compassionate, and PRESENT.  I have seen so many lady doctors lately that have just been so ABSENT.  What a good reminder at how important it is to listen and respond and just BE with people.  So very thankful for this new doctor. The new doctor let us see our baby again and found the heartbeat for us to hear.  It's transformed so much over the last 7 weeks or so!  It's come from a little peanut or grain of rice, to actually having (moving!) arms and legs, a visible spine and facial features!  We go back March 7 to get a full fledged ultrasound to make sure the anatomy is developing correctly and to see if we have a little boy or girl!  I'll share pictures when I get to a good scanner.
